Fictional boss card
Complete System Rewrite
"Let's rebuild from scratch." 2 years of work. Gone. Start the monolith again.
The scenario
Your manager announces a complete system rewrite, discarding two years of hard work instantly. You must rebuild the monolith from scratch while your stress levels spike dramatically. This boss encounter tests your resilience against the illusion of progress.
How it plays
This boss adds 22 burnout and forces you to discard one random card. You can only counter this threat using cards from the tools or personal categories.
Why it feels familiar
The sudden pivot to a new architecture that invalidates previous codebases is a classic management fantasy that leaves developers exhausted and cynical.
This boss adds 22 burnout and has a special encounter rule: discard random.
